I was born in 1953 and I remember my older sister wearing circle skirts with a lot of can-cans under the skirt to hold it out! I thought that was so neat! I couldn’t wait to be old enough to wear them, but when I was that old they were out of style! I did like the fashions my older sister wore.
I was born in ‘51, so I don’t remember much. But, from what I have seen, people were more prone to dress up when they left home.
I love the fashion of the 1950s – the skirts especially. Everyone looked so classy even doing mundane things like running errands.
I wasn’t born until the early 60s. But, most of my favorite movies were from the 50s. And there’s always the ’58 hardtop convertible Corvette, the 55 Belair, and the 57 T-Bird
I like the total and complete lack of social media and the extreme focuses and tunnel vision it brings to life today.
